KittenCatcher

Yesterday, I took on a 6-wk kitten as a foster that has been diagnosed as having spina bifida, a birth defect. I have been able to find very little info on this condition in cats.
This little girl doesn't have use of her back legs, but if I pinch between her toes, she jerks her legs back and objects. If I stand her up and hold the end of her tail, she appears to stand, although her hocks turn inward. She eats well, pees & poops (but may have no control), acts happy, plays with her pingpong ball.
Does anyone have any info on this condition? All I've found is an old Ask Dr. Mike post.
Is there any kind of physical therapy that would help?
Is she ever likely to be able to walk?
Any info would be much appreciated.
Sue
