Hi
I has a cage that is 26 inches high, 18 and a half inches long,18 inches wide.
I am not sure if i am going to get a budgie.I am thinking of getting a lovebird.
Cost budgies are cheaper.Lovebirds cost over $130. here but i would love to get a lovebird.
I like both birds.I have had budgies before.
What bird is better to have or are thay the same?

The size of cage you mention is almost the same as mineand yes you can put both a budgie or lovebird in the cage just not together. Budgies are defently easier than lovebirds. I have both And mine is a pest and I love her.

love birds are very cudly. they like to hide under your clothes and become VERY attached to their human. contrary to popular belief, you do not have to get two. if you get a young one that hasn't bonded to another bird yet, you can just get one and it will bond to you, but they are very demanding and want to be with you all the time. my aunt has one, she got it when it was a weanling, and she carried him around in her bag because she lives in florida. he cuddles in her shirt and rides around town with her, etc.

That cage will only work for 1 budgie, lovebirds need slightly larger cage, 20 x 20 x 27 will be fine for 1 lovebird. Make sure the bar spacing is no more than 1/2 "

Not to be mean or anything, but i'd say no bird at all..
Don't know what kind of laws you guys have over there, but here the minimum cage for a budgie is
35.5 Long, 23.5 high, and i've always thought that's really tiny.
When i had mine, they lived in a cage that was 50 Long, 27.3 Wide, and 70 high. (The minimum for a cockatiel.)

Hagos- are those dimensions in centimeters or inches, were reffering to inches here, 18x18x23", would be like 46x46x58 centimeters.

It is in inches.
I've tried to convert it as well as i can, as we use centimeters here.
Wick meens my budgies lived in a cage that was 120cm Long, 180 High, and 70 wide, for example. :-)
I'm not to good at inches and stuff like that so i might've screwed up. ;)

I Think Thats Insane!! That Cage Would Be Taller Then Me!! That Would Be Like The Size Of My Closet!! I Don't Beleive A Bird NEEDS A Cage That Big, Not That They Wouldn't Enjoy It :p

You can't possibly expect us to believe that the minimum cage height for a cockatiel is nearly 6 feet high! You've done your conversions wrong.

I did not say that, either.
MY cage was 180cm high. The minimum is 80cm high.
They are not helicopters, so the height isn't what's important, but the lengt and width.
I have bought a double bed (You know those with one bed near the floor, and another over it.)
it's 2 meters long, 90cm wide. I am planning on turning it into a cage for my Senegal and his soon to be wife.
His cage right now is only 90cm high, 1 meter long, and 65cm wide. Really small for him. Hope he'll like it. :-)
They need a cage big enough to, at-least, fly about 5-6 wingflaps. (The width should always be so that the bird can strech it wings out fully, and then add a little more.)
For example the macaw cages i see sometimes, it's outrageous! I can't understand how they fit in those cages. ;-)
A bird that ic more then 75cm long, according to the law here, should have a cage that is minimum:
3,6 meters long, 1,8 meters high. It has to be a total of 6,5m2, so you can calculate the width of the cage yourselves. :)
When i had my tiel's in a smaller cage before, maby just 50 wide, 80 long and 80 high (They were just two, then.) It was nothing at all like in their current cage. In this one i can actually do stuff for them to keep them bussy, instead of just hanging an acrylik toy in there, because it was the only thing that fit. ;)
They have room to fly alittle even when they're not let out, and have fun all day instead of waiting to be let out. :-)
Take care!
