-shakes head- I'm getting a new cage

Goodness. Sweet Pea did the same tactic of escaping, only on the second door. This time she got in the trash can and had some wire and plastic wrapped around her. As soon as I checked her cage and saw the door open, I heard rustling and saw her in the trash can. We were afraid the wire stabbed her, we took her to the vet immediately. They said Sweet Pea had no internal damage, but check if she is doing her business. Shes still very scared and recuperating.
This time we twist tied all the doors.
O_O Scared us half to death. Were getting a new house.

what kind of cage do you have, this is like the 3-4 time isn't it? it's sweat pea she's just too smart for cages. you may want to think about the bin type of caging cheap and easy.

You know those vertical wire cages? The ones that you can pull out? She's smart enough to use her weight and push it open. I think a bin would be great.

Or a cage that has springs, or one that opens from the top. I'm hoping that she doesn't have damage...

I would get her a bin or an aquarium. She would have a much harder time escaping from either of those. That would definately keep her safer too.

Is she a dwarf? If she is a SAM cage will work great. Mine has a look out tower and a circle of toobs. She loves it! I think it is a SAM Palace or something. If its not a dwarf my syrian loves the Harts Play City. It is almost unescapable!! It has bars and comes with a water bottle, cage, and wheel.

i put mesh on the sides (only two or it will fall down) you could put it mesh on the lid, i used a blade to start the cutting then use a jigsaw. this is just if you want to make a bin. ;)

well cooki is just now getting used ot it and i have had it for i think 3, 4, 5 weeks now so. I made the bin i have had the CT cage for 4 years. thanks!

I just think it's easier for them to run and it doesn't bang them all over the place. the cars have three levels so if you get the track that goes with it you can let the just run on that, run in the air or run on the ground. it's cool i think cooki like it more, she's used to it she wont runin a ball she so spoiled.

RAge my last hamster :( she wasn't mean the name was picked because she moved so fast and was alway in her wheel, but she started out with the wheel and moved up to a higher class the car or critter cruiser. :D

Hey just looking at you pics again fluff n roll and i noticed your car, i have one for my syrian same colour and i also have one of those tracks/race tracks for it. just got film with pictures of my hammy...the didn't turn out of her :(

i just figured out a way to make more room in my room for bins! im so excited. right now i have my hamsters seperated into 5 cages. i dont have enough room for 5 bins tho. i think my baby girl hams would get along ok with the mom girl ham. the boys.. the boys are soooo difficult.
