I am posting this tutorial to show you how to make chewsticks for your hamsters and a tasty treat for them.
What you will need to make chewsticks A sheet of balsa wood that you can fing at your local hobbyshop (you choose the thickness), an exacto knife, paper towels, and food coloring.

First cut out a piece of wood the size you would like the chewsticks to be.

Next rip off a ribbon of 3 paper towels.

fold them on the perferated line to make a square

fold in half to make a rectangle

Now pick your color food coloring and put your wood on the paper towel.

(I have found that it helps to wet the stick before you do this next step) Drop a dot of coloring onto the wood and let it seep through it.

you might want to slant the wood so it can move around.
