i recently got 2 rats. right now i have them in a 20 gallon tank. i have to get them a bigger cage though. i thought i could use the 20 gallon for some of my dwarf hammies. can i cut a hole thru the top mesh cover to connect it with a tube to their current home? i wanted to do a bin cage for them.. but why waste a perfectly good tank?
