As some of you may remember from a couple weeks back, I rescued two ladies from some kids who were really neglected. I would even go so far as to say they were flat out abused.

Anyway, they are doing spectacular, and are both healthy and active. The one that was worse is much better, has put on some weight, but is still much smaller than the other one who has put on a couple grams.

I really want to rehome these ladies as I can't imagine them being at their happiest here living with predators. I have a dog, two foster cats and two ferrets, and they are all interested, so the gerbs don't get any out time.

I'm in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and can drive aways to their new home. I will include their living arrangements (currently clear plastic tubs), one wheel, and whatever food I have left. I am asking for a small adoption fee that will promptly be donated to another shelter or rescue organization. I am only asking to weed out collectors (I'm not saying any of you are collectors). If the perfect, serious home is found, I'll waive the adoption fee. If you're under 18, I need parental permission as I want an adoption form signed. I had a surrender form signed so I want to have a paper trail.

Please email me at aggie@skunknosedog.com or call me at 306-880-LICK if you or someone you know in the area is interested.

Thanks guys :)

I am sadly not in the area... :( But I am so glad to see you got the little girls back into good health. Good luck on the search for new parents.

I'm glad you saved them and put some weight back on the weaker girl, and had no trouble re-introducing them.

hmm, Saskatoon is that just south of Prince Albert somewhere? I'm not sure how far North it is from Montana and North Dakota, but if it's wihtin an hour or two you could post on the AGS classifieds and see if someone in the states is interested in driving up to help you out with htem? Canadian regulation has no problems with gerbils crossing the border, they won't detain you any longer hten normal, if it is possible, I don't know of many Saskatchewan adoption sites.

good luck!!

Saskatoon is close to PA, more north I think. I'm originally from Toronto, and I just moved here, so I'm lost.

I posted on that website. Thanks!

I'm not having any luck, and they really need to get into a new home in the next couple of weeks, before the 8th of July. PLEASE, anyone? Anyone know of any rodent rescues in Saskatchewan that I could talk to?

shoot, I wish I could help. Most of the people are from Quebec, Ontario or BC that check that site. Maybe you could ask around locally, or put up signs in vet clinics, pet shops, schools, librarys, etc. There's more online classifieds, or perhaps a Yahoo group to join. There's rescue organizations that could probably give the gerbils a ride pretty far away, if you can find a home. Try posting on http://www.petfinder.com/messageboard/index.php?sid=46618089d49cacf636d037ee7ddf7f97

I know of many rescue groups that take in rodents, but none in Canada. Maybe someone on this board will know of one where you live, or if worse comes to worse, do you think a cousin, friend, or relative might be able to watch hte girls until you can find htem a permanent home?

wish I could help...

Here's a shelter in Prince Albert:

Maybe they can take in gerbils, they have cats and dogs at least. Here's a rescue in your town http://www.quadrant.net/streetcat/ maybe they know of a rodent shelter in the same town- a lot of hte shelters stay in touch. let us know if you place them

There is a shelter in saskatoon, but I don't want to drop them off at a shelter.

As for SCAT, I won't deal with them. Personal reasons.

I've been asking around, but noone seems to know of any rodent rescues.
