Question...can hamsters get stuck in the tubes connected to some cages? I just got a new cage and it has those tube things and my hamster is pregnant. I'm affraid she will get stuck. Is that possible?

if you have a preg hammy they can get stuck and this sometimes kills the babys (one of my friends had it happen):bawling:

if you have a crittertrail: buy s.a.m bubble plugs and block off the top!!

S.A.M: same as above

Rotasack: rotasack tubes are the biggest and if you have a dwarf no worries but if you have a syrian block them off:):agree:

I have a Crittertrail cage for my hamster (who I only got 4 weeks ago). She wasn't using the tubes in the cage and was just sitting at the bottom on the sawdust. Instead of going up and down the tubes she she would climb up the bars of the cage and then jump off of the platforms, which worried me as they are quite high up.

I now have a metal cage for her that has 3 levels and ladders, wheel, house, etc and she loves this cage! She runs up and down really fast and is alway climbing and hanging like a monkey from the bars! lol ;)

I think some hammys just don't like tubes......

that could be true cause corkey doesent use his little tubes at the bottom of the cage. and ozzie loves them!
