u can try putting her food/treats on ur palm and let her climb up and eat them from ur palm... let her get used to ur hand..scent gradually
and soon she'd be used to u and would gladly climb onto ur palm everything ..thinking there's food on it

Since you got the hamster a week ago, she's probably used to her cage so start tamin her *slowly*. First, put your hand into the cage/tank for a few minutes every day and let your hamster come up to it and sniff it. Holding a treat between your fingers will help. If your hamster doesn't approach your hand, take your hand out and try again later. Don't chase the hamster around with your hand. You'll only make her scared of you. When your hamster is no longer afraid of your hand, you can try pick her up. Scoop her up with both hands gently and reward her with a treat. Always reward good behavior with treats so that she will associate you and being picked up with treats.
How long it will take to tame her depends on her personality. Some hamsters are easily trained while others take a week or so to get used to being handled.
