I've read a lot of posts from people complaining about all the noise their hamsters make when they are trying to sleep. Mine love to chew on the bars of their cage or go crazy on their wheel, just as I'm about to doze off. Well, here's an idea. Put them in your closet. Clear a spot on the floor of your closet and stick them in there at night when you are ready for bed and close the door. That way they aren't bothered by strange chage of smell or temperature and you can sleep better in peace and quiet. It works for me. Just thought I'd let you guys know.:agree:

I also wanted to add that if your wheel squeaks, rub vaseline on the hinge where it spins with a q-tip. It isnt harmful to the hamster if he happens to lick off a bit and it keeps the wheel squeak free for quite a while!
Putting a bathcloth under the wheel will keep it from banging on the bottom of a glass aquarium. The hammy might use it for bedding, but t sure helps with sound control.

My hammy is pretty quiet, I just put her in the family room with a little light on, putting the cage in a closet and shutting the door seems alittle extreme to me..what about alittle fresh air, closets are so stuffy!! Just spend the night in one and See!:dodgy:

My house sounds like an earthquake with all the wheels, gnawing and digging.

Can't here it too much with all doors closed tho - the birds are the loudest.

That is cool but why a heater in the closet? Isn't that alittle dangerous? And too much heat is not good either! Oh well the closet sounds good to me right now!! I am tired! :agree:
