Hi,

My dog is terribly noisy and loves to bark at strangers. Though he is allowed to bark, but he don't seem to have limits in barking.

It is really frustrating and embarrassing when our dog starts barking at our neighbour who is so sweet to share with us her home-made cake.

Do anyone here has any idea how to deal with such behavior?

Hi there,

This is a major problem with dog owners. I have one suggestion. When your dog barks for no apparent reason mist him with a water bottle. Dogs do not like that and when you mist him say "NO". He will not like the water and this may help you solve your problem.

the reason your dog is barking to to protect you and to warn you that people are coming. It in thier blood there's nothing you can do about that, they will always do there best to protect you and your family.
How old is your dog?
when he over barks you can tell him nicely and quietly to stop barking and if you keep doing this he may stop over barking, but if he is too old then he pobably may not because he can be to old.

I think you are right about "its in their blood" thing.

My dog still barks, but when i say a firm "NO", he stops. And i also used a spray to spray water on him too. That helps a little.

He is about 2.5 years old. What dog are you keeping and how old is it?
