old hammy+new hammy= ???

Hi, my friend gave me a male Black Bear Hamster. I don't know exactly how old he is, but i do know that he is old. About a week later, I got another hamster, it is a female Teddy Bear Hamster. She was a baby at that time but i'm guessing shes an adult now. I wantedd to know if they could still mate. Also, i put them together and the male started like- I don't know, either cleaning the females fur or biting her. I don't know. But if you could help me with my questions, i would really appreciate it.

Black Bears are syrains! and so are teddy bears If you dont know. If you put two syrians Together they fight usually to death. You don't put two syrians together They are going to kill each other. You need to put them in seperate cages.

i dont think shes keeping them together...she put them together to mate them...right?
Anyway...i dont really know anything about mating....

all i know about mating is that there are already a lot of hamsters in the world.there are loads in shelters.i wouldnt mate them.if u want a baby why not adopt one?but thats just my opinion you may have a reason to mate them..
