well my baby girl seems to be a baby boy...
up untill now our smallish hamster who definatly didnt have the parts to be male, all of a sudden developed a large testicle like swelling where hamster testicles usually grow...
what im getting at is up untill now (we have had it for about 5 months maybe 6) we had every right to assume that our she was in fact a she, has anyone heard of this happening before or could it be something else?
thanks for the help!

could be something else, I'm sure there are "late bloomers" but that seems to be a bit long....
do you have any pictures?

Yeah, I think it might be something else. You can usually tell at least by 4 or 5 weeks. I hope she's ok.:)

Yeah, that is unusual at 5 months! Have a vet check it, it may be a tumor.

well when we first got beans, it was a "he", we got beans from petco, and "he" was in the male cage, but was the only male or female hamster left. they even gave me a little sheet that said male fancy hamster or whatever they put on it. well then we got my mother a hamster, and peanut is defiantely a he! (very large "peanuts") so since beans is a smaller syrian and because there were no visible testicles beans was now a "she", but like i said all of a sudden i came back from a weekend trip and there are what appear to be testicles. there is shape and what appear to be a pair, and now im not sure. other then that beanse is acting normal, sleeping alot eating, wheeling, you know normal hamster stuff
so you can see how canfusing this all is =)
and to beans too, he/she dosent know what it is, i keep calling it different things!

I would take it to the vet or back to PETCO and have them check again because that seems unusual....

I wouldn't take it back to petco, most store employees don't know anything about them. A vet is your better choice.
pics would help :)
