hamster play time

i have 8 hamsters and 3 mice. right now they get 30 out of cage time a day each. which is minimum. i was wondering if anyone could suggest any other kind of activities for them. right now i just have 2-3. which is a playpen area with toys where they have more open space, runabout car/ball thing [only some of the hamsters liek it tho], and then crawling over me and whatnot of course :)

so it usually split up to 15/15 or 10/10/10 depending on if the hamster likes the ball or not. i have dwarfs but 5 of them are loners and dont like each other so they must be by themselves.

i thought if i could work more routines in.. maybe it could spice up their life some.. so yes ideas please :)

Well i am not sure if you have tried but put the dwarfs in an area together so they can try to get along better. Another activity is a see saw, i went to PetCo today and actually bought my self one for my hampster, i think it is great you can try that too! Well i hope it works out for you.

Well I myself have 5 hamsters and they love to play outside in the grass. What i do Is I take the playpen and put it outside for my hampsters to play in. I put the playpen in the grass and put hay over the grass, and i watch them burrow under the hay. :) You can try this too! But make sure that there is no plants that can hurt your hampters!!

some of my hamsters have a seesaw in their cage. they fight so bad.. even if i thought they were starting to get along id be too paranoid. i once had to pull simon and peter off of each other. it ended with all 3 of us bleeding.

i have a playpen for them that i use inside my house.. i wouldnt sit in the grass myself. too many creepy things so im not putting my animals there. plus i think our grass gets sprayed with weird chemicals that is more than likely harmful to them. thanks for the suggestions tho guys.

i think i might try to get a hamster track and another playpen or two.

I have used a whole bunch of toilet paper tubes and papers and other things and made a maze for mine. I have also got tons of tubes that connect together and they run down them. I made them a ladder and they love to climb on it, there is so many different angles they go nuts for. I don't take my hammies outside. I think you're just asking for trouble if u do that. I let mine play on the couch for some reason they go nuts playing on the couch.
