what does it mean when a dog eats grass, found something that looks like blood clots not sure if she spit it up or if it was through her bowel movement,she also on occasion spits up this foamy white stuff,please can anyone help,she is strictly a house dog only goes out for walks and to relieve herself ,never had any type of heart worm prevention ,could that be what it is ,she is 5 years old,she is a feist,or what looks like a rat terrier.PLEASE HELP.

You need to get your dog into a vet to get a check up.

Eating grass seems to be a normal behavior for dogs, My siberian husky eats grass on ocasion..There have been a number of studies done trying to link grass eating with illness, vitamin or mineral deficiencies, lack of roughage in the diet...
I know of several dogs in who only eat the grass that other dogs have recently urinated on (both are male dogs)...
Maybe its time for a checkup.. I dont think the foaming of the mouth, and blood clots is normal...
But eating grass is.
