We are new hamster owners of suppose to be teddy bear hamsters, My husband brought them home from our babysitters. We only had them a month before we noticed babies. That is when it dawned on me to go look online and research i have since seperated them. I had no clue they could even fight. Ours never ever fought and got along good. I have been looking at pics and ours look like dwarfs not teddy bear hamsters. Anyways our momma had 7 babies only one has made it and is now 15 days old. The baby got out of the cage some how so we made a bin cage and read we could clean the cage at 2 weeks. We also put some of the old bedding in the cage to ease the momma but she seems to act weird like trying to climb the sides is this normal? I just did not want the baby to get out again we had a cage from walmart that they was in. Also the mom is overly stuffing her cheeks! her cheeks are huge!! Another question i have is that i read a post that hamsters can mate 5 hours after birth  We didnt notice baby hamsters until the next day she had them so could she be pregnant??
I mean we took our hamsters out daily and so it was over night before we noticed babies. Sorry for the long post any advice is well appreciated

ok, calm down. I highly reccomend doing more research.
sex the baby, becuase if it is a boy, he will mate with momma, since you do not know the breed of the hamster, another bin cage will be fine.
Get wheels for all 3 cages....saftey wheels or comfort wheels, no runged wheels they can break legs.
She is "climbing the sides" because she is bored.
Hamsters have pouchs in their cheeks, it's COMPLETELY normal, they will fill their pouchs, and then go hide it.
It is a possibility that she is pregnant, if she is, you will be seeing babies soon..

do you have any pics so we can tell you if it's a dwarf or syrian (teddy bear, panda bear, etc...are all syrian hamsters)

Stuffing there cheeks is very normal do not worry. And it is possible that she is pregnant again. Good luck with the little ones!!

you dont need 3 cages if they are really dwarfs,if the baby is a girl she can live in the same cage as mom, and if a boy he can live with the dad.

Thank you for replying :) Our momma has settled down. We did add a wheel to her bin but have not put it on yet because we don't want the baby to get hurt. We are now slowly getting her out of her cage little by little. I just do not want to over stress her. If I can get one of my cams to work I will post pictures. My mom got a Dwarf hammy the other day and it looks like ours but different in color and hers has longer hair.
I noticed hers has a black stripe down its back and our Momma has a black stripe down her back. Also our sitter has all her hamsters together and none fight at all. So I am thinking we don't have teddy bear hamsters afterall.

yeah you have dwarfs, all teddy bear means is long-haired syrian so if yours are teeny tiny and dont have long hair they re not teddy bears. the stripe down the back is definately a dwarf characteristic.

While a dwarf characteristic, it is ALSO a syrian characterisitic, so like I said, pics will be helpfull.

If those look EXACTLY like your hamster, then it's a dwarf ;)
