I personally like the silent spinner, especially off the stand (between wires, or in a slot like the ones I have in my bin cages). My hams used to run on it so much when they were in their glass aquariums that the stand would move back so far that the wheel would bang against the wall of the cage. It was really loud and the first time it happened it was the middle of the night and I almost had a heart attack!!!:Dlol

i couldnt get a silent spinner that wud fit my cage...the cage itself is long but not very high only 11inches.

Oh, cuz the wheel I have is 6 1/2" - 8" or something like that:) What kind of cage do you have???

Silent SPinner... never heard of it.. all I know is the one I have is LOUD. Last night was my first with my new hamster, I previously had one and the thing I missed the least was that darn wheel! But.. If she likes it there is nothing I can do.. ONE QUESTION!!! Since I am not sure about most things about the wheel.. Does your wheel have bars or is it solid???

my wheel is solid (wire ones arent good fro their feet)...its the 8 1/2 inch comfort wheel..i didnt get the silent spinner cos i thought it wud be too small for him and i was paranoid about him hurting himself cos he is really big...
i have a wire cage...think its a pretty standard one...i wish i had gotten him a plastic one but i was worried he would have any air and that if the air wasnt allowed circulate eh wud stink up my room, cos i have him in my "dorm" room in college ...lol we arent allowed have pets but i really wanted some company :)

Yeah, the silent spinner is a solid bottom wheel made of plastic. Wire ones are bad for their feet and they can break lims if their legs go between the bars while they're running.

If it makes a racket try putting some vegetable oil or it. I myself put grape seed oil on my wheels when they make a noise. Vegetable oil or grape seed oil does not harm hamsters if they ingest it.

Yeah I thought the hams would just eat it off but someone said it worked, veggie or grape oil sounds better though:)
