ive read somewhere and on this website that once introducing gerbils if any blood comes out its an unlikely chance they wont be friends. is this true?

Yes it is.
But, if that situation happend with me, I would try a split cage for as long as it takes untill the gerbils accepted one another, you never know if you don't try.

Always START with split screen. It is just too dangerous to do otherwise, unless you have tremendous experience with their behavior.

tha and yeah i do have split caging but b4 i did that i just put them in together and my first one bit the new one. i just hope they get used to each other. Buddy seems to be VERY territorial.I just feel bad for Barney because he has no clue whats going on.. thanks for the help though :)
