placing it in ur room with such noise distractions may not be a good idea. moreover he may inturn disturb ur sleep at nite when he's all up and actively running his wheel

good luck :D

well i could move it out when i vacume but does music and the television bothere it. if so i guess i would need to put him in another room (plus my room is the coldest in the house).

So i guess i will need to find somwhere else if i get one, but i was plainned to block off parts of my room where it would escape into.(on a different note: I never had a hamster before [not much pets either, pretty much a fish:bawling: ] i am currently in the position of bugging my parents to take me to go look at them in the weekend, then my next move once that happenes will act really quiet when we have to leave.hehe)

I have all of my hamsters in my living room (and the TV is usually on). They tend to do their own thing, the hamster that has his cage right beside the TV doesnt seem to be hampered by it, he sleeps away in his little plastic igloo. The dwarf hamsters dont really care about anything much except going spastic all the time.

I wouldnt worry. If the noise doesnt hurt a small child's ears it wont hurt your hammies.

yes, but still, we want them to live in a more ideal environment

and maybe they'll turn out to be the one disturbing ur sleep than u disturbing theirs :D

good luck on owning hamsters

I really would suggest some place quiet at least when the little hammy is sleeping, the TV should be turn down, do not run a vacumm while the little one is sleeping, would it be hard for you to sleep when a vacumm is running by your ear? Hammys have really good hearing! Waking a sleeping hammy will also shorten the life span too!
