My freinds dog is throwing up green vomit. She is on antibiotics but has taken them before. She said that the dog threw up last time too, but only while she was adjusting to the meds. This time, she has thrown up twice and both times it has been green. She said that she is going to try to cut down on the dosage to see if that helps. The dog has had no access to grass or any chemicals that can be making the vomit green. They are puzzled to why this is happening and cannot figure out a reason. Any suggestions to why, or what they can do would be greatly appreciated. She thinks that the medicine might be too strong for the dogs stomach. My mom and I agree saying that the greeness of the throw-up might be the "bile" of her stomach. AKA, the dog has nothing left in its stomach so is throwing up stomach fluids. Any ideas?

Through what I've read, I've heard that the stomach fluids are green. Maybe cut down on the dosage or give a little food to him/her. At least then the dog will be vomitting up food instead of the stomach lining. Also-call a 24 hr. emergency vet and ask their opinion.

Hey guys I just wanted to tell you that the dog died today. My freinds are very upset. (as you can imagine) I feel so bad for them; we lost our 1st dog over 4 years ago. The one thing that I am thinking of though is their other dog Dutchy. Now she is missing her Penny. How do you think she will react?

what did the dog die from?? DO they know why it was throwing up green fluids? Make sure the vet rules out anything the other dog could die from as well, as a precausion (sp) Let her know my thoughts and prayers are with her :(

I think it was cancer, she had tumors all over her.

OMG what a sin...that is so sad. how old was she/he?
The green vomit was prolly bile like you said....jsut for future reference. Antibiotics should ALWAYS be given with food. Think when we take them, it's always suggested to take them with food.

She did give the pills with food dont worry; she couldnt get the dog to take them without the food. She was about 7 I think Joanne said.

Read on only if you have a strong stomach.

Her tumors were so bad that they were rupturing. The dog was basically rotting to death. Jo went to put on her leash, turned her collar to have access to the ring; and one that was stuck to the collar ripped right off her neck showing these green fluids. You wouldnt have even recognized the dog from four months ago.
