Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me! I have a friends wedding and I'm the maid of honor and she wants her dog to be a part of the wedding BUT the dog has a slight bladder problem! Every time that the dog gets greeted it pees wherever it is! And I don't mean just a bit I mean quite a bit. I was wondering if there is some sort of panty thing that the dog could wear, as it is a female? And we could maybe dress it up? Do they have something like that????

I am a Manager of a pet-store and we do sell little doggie panties. They are actually for dogs in heat or for a dog that have a blatter problem. Actually, they are soooooo cute. They are like a little diaper with a little hole in the back for the dogs tail. You can get them in assorted colours and sizes. Maybe this will help your friends problem.

Good luck!

The 'diapers' will be effective for this event, but your friends dog doesn't have a bladder problem. She's doing what is known as 'submissive urination'. Without going into a lot of detail, when someone comes up to her and greets her, she urinates as a way to show that person that he or she is the boss. As the dog gets older, this particular submissive behavior goes away and is replaced with something else.

Tell your friend that more socialisation with the dog and people, both stranger and friend, will help get rid of the problem quicker. The more contact she has with people, the less likely she'll do this.

Quite honestly, I think a wedding might be a bit overwhelming for her dog, but if she insists, buy the large economy pack of doggie diapers. She's gonna need 'em. LOL

I have to agree with Hienz57. The only sure way to rule out any medical problem is a visit to the vets. However, Hienz does have a good point as far as the dog being at the wedding, it could be to much for her,all the different smells, strange people, music and especially the noise that will occur at the end of the ceremony. The dog could even "feed" off the emoitions of her owner. How about considering doing something like; having the dog walked in by a trusted friend as a FLOWER DOG with the procession and then once the Bride and Groom are in place , have the dog walked back out to a more quiet enviroment until after the end of the Clapping and Congrats!
