I think the kitty needs to go to the vet. Poor thing, it may be in pain.

I've read that Cleft Palate is a fairly common birth defect in cats. Since this kitten has been able to nurse and wean, it's likely that it could be able to live a full, happy life. However, it being so small might indicate that the kitten infact hasn't been getting enough nutrition to grow properly. But, of course, even if I were a vet I wouldn't be able to diagnose the kitty online. So, ditto on the vet thing.

1. this kitten should have its first booster by now. this requires a visit to the veterinarian.
2. surgery can correct this if it is necessary (it sounds like a cleft palate) but that should be discussed with the veterinarian.
