I have a 3 year old male Beagle. Lately he has been trying to hump my leg. I treat my dog like I am his mother. I'm very caring and show him a lot of love. I don't know why he does this. He doesn't dare do this to my husband. Why does he do this and what should I do?

Hello sasha-m,
I understand what you are going through. Not too sure how accurate this logic is, but usually male dogs will hump on females. Hardly the man. http://petshub.com/ubb/confused.gif
He does this is because he is growing and turning into a "young man". You can stop or prevent this act by saying a firm "NO!" whenever you caught him doing it. It is sheer determination and training that your dog will learn and understand. It is very natural that he is reacting this way. Be patient with him and give him some time.

Hi,
Had the same problem with my male dog when he was a pup. Had him neutered when he was 7 months old. He is now 7 years old and I have never had a problem since!
Good luck!

Thanks for your responses. I will just have to patient with him. I forgot to mention that my dog was also neatured when he was 7 months old. So this behavior surprises me even more.
