I got to go in to work late this morning.. =) Didn't have to be there until 11... but still had to leave home by 8:30.. (crazy huh?) I didn't hear my alarm go off, but happened to wake up around 8:15, so I just rushed to get dressed and such and out the door.. I thought it was weird that I didn't see my cat before I left... but figured she was just hiding under the bed or something...

So I get home around 6:30... and look for Miranda... no sign... look under the bed... behind everything.. on the balcony... nothing.

So I go outside, shortly after, I hear a very distinctive meow, that is none other than my sweet kitten Miranda... I hear her... but I can't find her... I thought for a while she was in a shed that was locked, (there was a hole in the door that she could have fit through) but she didn't come to the door when I called her... finally found her up a tree above the shed. =/

Mind you this is my kitty, totally people friendly... but scared as all hell when she's in a strange environment. Anyway... so she started to come down... but got scared again and just stayed where she was at. I ran to the managers office hoping that someone would be there... (and sort of freaked out that they would realize that I have a cat... and never paid a pet deposit... 0=) Anyhoo... there was someone there... and she called somebody that lives near me... two mexican guys... and one of them climbed the tree and got her down... =) she purred like you wouldn't believe when I got to hold her again... =) makes you a little giddy inside...

So she's home now... and not allowed on the balcony anymore!

And just for funsies to all of those that read my post...

Kittens have a habit of doing daft things like that, as I learned late one night when I had to tresspass through several gardens and climb halfway up a tree- not to mention having to avoid the local German Shepherd Dog.
Hopefully, she's learnt her lesson- trees aren't for climbing!

She's an adorable (and apparently a very curious) little beast. If anything this probably just taught her to not climb quite so high, or maybe to climb higher so strange men can't climb up and grab her. Cats are quirky like that, it seems the moral you want them to learn is rarely the one they learn.
