45 litres...about 10 gallons, right? How many fish are there in the tank?

Hey honey, you live very local to me - i'm in the midlands too - Wolverhampton to be precise. We haven't got weather loach in at the moment either i'm afraid, although we usually keep both the golden and normal colours in the store. But weather loach don't really get 'lonely' without companions anyway, they're not a particularly social species, although they don't mind each others company.

hi, thanks songbird i was just wondering really, and mr gerbil, there are now 4 fish in my tank, a red comet , a golden orfe, a black moor and 1 weather loach . plus a fluval 3 filter and an interpet undergravel filter. :)

Ok. You need a bigger tank.

Also, a Fluval 3 in a 10g is going to really annoy the fish (can't say for sure, but I'd imagine so).

The comet's going to eventually need a 150 gallon tank. The black moor would probably survive with a 40g, but you might as well just get a 150g for the lot.

Songbird, weathloaches are extremely social! Or is my one just special?

So, honeythorn, can you get a 150 gallon tank?

I think if you got rid of the comet you could get away with a 29-55 gallon tank for those fish. The thing with goldfish is that they are so darn messy, and big when they are older.

Or you could build a pond.

Any ideas, honeythorn?

hi sorry i havent posted (been a bit busy) ! well basically ive wanted a new tank for a while but i have to find a full time job first before i can buy a new tank of any description( this is proving difficult at the mo) but as soon as i have one i'm planning on buying a 3-4 foot tank. I have no idea how many gallons that is , i am chronically abysmal at maths . I'll also have to shift some furniture in my room and position the new tank next to my bed ! as for my current tank, the comet is about 3 inches long minus the tail fin. i know they get large and if it turns out that hes not going to fit i can always put him in my aunts pond ( ours is a ridiculous little thing , it wont support any fish) the filter dosent seem to bother them much ,ive had it two years , they like to rest down the one side at night , the three goldfish at the side and the loach underneath :)

150 gallons...I'm not exactly a maths genius either, lol.
But it's big. I *think* an average 50g is around 4 foot...so a 150g would be 12 feet long. But I don't know.

Doing research...

A 150g weighs about 1200lbs.

60" x 24" x 24" is one estimate. In feet, that's 5 feet. Ok, I was completely off track.

If you've got 4 feet of room, you could get away with a 120 gallon.

Can anyone check my maths?

a 150 gallon I believe is 72"X24"X24" I think... but I think you can get them in 5' too

hmm i looked at a few tanks today, they didnt have any 4 or 5 foot tanks but there was a very nice 3-3 1/2 foot tank with a curved front. but that was £215! i dont have that kind of cash at the mo! i will keep looking tho, the search continues........

bowfronts are more expensive than flat tanks.
