Hi my name is Elycia. My boyfriend Shea and I are looking to adopt him a male sugar glider. Shea already has a female who is pregnant and we are looking for a male to keep her company. Due to a sad accident the father has past away and the female is very lonely. So if you or anyone you know is looking to find their male a good home please email us. Thank you very much.

Sincerely,
Elycia and Shea

If you add a new male to her cage while she has joeys ip, there is a high chance that she will canobilize them. ALthough, she may also do it if she is alone and missing her mate. Just wanted to warn you.

thx for the warning... i have a question though.
the last tme my kiana bear was preggo she had a male named draco with her and they stayed together and they seemed very happy, well a few days after the joey came out (eyes not open yet but had fuzz and stuff) i found the baby mangled in the pouch that they all slept in. i now know that you should separate the males from the females when they pop out the kid but did the male kill the babe or did kiana do it? and what can i do in my current situation to prevent her from offing her babe?

um well i just moved to CA from TX and i had no choice but to ship the gliders freight on the plane. i couldnt carry them on. but when i arrived in ca they were a little shaken but upon seeing me and getting some crickets and love they were just fine and never showed any further signs of stress....so shipping them really isnt that bad, or at least it wasnt in my case.

Actually, you DO NOT seperate the male and female! That causes undue stress and dad helps raise the joey. When gliders canibolize, it is usally due to bad diet, stress, or something was wrong witht he joey. What diet plan do you feed? I'm betting it was the diet.

well ok, i didnt separate them, like i said i didnt really know what to do so i left them together. as for stress i played with them for at least 3 to 4 hours a night and if i went anywhere..i mean anywhere and stayed overnight, i brought a travel cage with me. their diet plan was several large crickets/grasshoppers/mealworms per night, interchanged with various fruits and veggies, and calcium powder mixed into certain types of low fat, low sugar babyfood. so i dont think it was the diet by any means thats almost a picture perfect way to care for your glides. i was simply asking if it was the male or the female in your opinion, but since the male is gone how do i avoid the joey being harmed again?

I do suggest a better diet such as BML with fruits and veggies every night! they need vitamin and calcium suppliments as well as 50% protein (which is all contained in the BML) You cannot really "prevent" a canoblized joey. Just reduce their stress as much as possible and give them a good proven diet (no where near what you are feeding) Things that could cause stress are moving of the cage, new additions to your house, taking them to unknown/unfamiliar places, any changes really.

i dont see how i am "nowhere near" feeding my glider right when the diet plan you just listed is almost ver batim what i said i fed her, the only thing i dont feed her is this bml, which i dont even know what that is. but please read things before you post them, dont go telling me i am not doing something right then tell me to do what i am already doing, it doesnt make any sense. and it wasnt very polite either, just explain what bml is plz.

BML is the mixture of the protien they need, the calium suppliment, the vitamin suppliment, along with honey, baby ceral, wheat germ, juice with yogurt. It has been proven to spully everything they need as long as fruits and veggies are also served every night in the quanity suggested. I did read your post and your diet is very lacking and probably one of the factors your joeys are not making it.(you asked what you can do, and that is the main thing I am seeing as you are not feeding enough and the right combination of things) You can find the BML diet plan here:
