Hello,
I just got my sugar glider for about three or four months ago. I think I got really lucky. She is a 3yr old sweet female that has never crabbed at me. She was already tame when I bought her.
When they say "bonding" do they just mean tame? How do you know if you are "bonded"? She will chill in my shirt (her favorite spot) but i think she would treat anyone the same way shes so tame and used to people. When she jumps off she doesn't come back. .
Even though she is older can I still train her?
When I first went to meet Sasha (my SG) she woke up all happy running around on her owner and jumped on me and ran around on me. When she jumped off .. shed jump right back on .. She doesn't do that anymore really. .She will just sit there really still and even kinda lean til she almost falls off the round branch in the same position.
But when she wakes up she runs around frantically in little splurts in little directions. .that makes me feel better except for the fact she doesnt come to me. .
The lady before me said she ate her babies. . .How do I know if it was just because she was low on protein or if she will eat all her babies? I'd like to get her a friend but if i do will she bond with it instead of me?
She didn't get along with the other sugar gliders pair at the time which is why she was letting her go to a better home instead of being chased all the time. . .
Is there any easy way to figure out what kind of friend I should get her? Probably about the same age etc?
I'm think she is still depressed a little .. I am going to try to improve her diet and start putting in more time with her. I bought her a ball but I don't know if she likes it .. I don't think she realizes she is in it because she runs to things and tries to climb up them while shes in it . .
I feel bad because I moved three months after I bought her so Im sure shes probably freaking out again like "Where the f*ck am I?" "again." awww
Is this stuff normal for a 3yr old?
What exactly do they act like after they "bond?"
Will I be able to get her to "bond" to me?
What can I do to help her along?
I read a lot of stuff on here about babies but this is my first one and shes older and already had babies of her own. . . any advice?
