I recently got two dwarf hamsters from the same litter at Petco. Both Female. I got two cages connected together to give them extra room.Just now I heard a little squeaking and went over to see and it looked like Ryo was nipping at Ohki...they finally broke it off after Ohki ran away (Ryo has been really hard to tame and is kinda nippy and mean but were workin on it) Should I be scared that it might progress?? I dont want to come home one day and find my ohki beaten up or worse dead :-(
What is "play" supposed to look and sound like??

Dwarfs are odd this way. Very noisy as they either play or one tries to establish dominance by getting on top of the other who will get on his/her back in a defensive posture.
I do break it up when I see it with a quick puff of air, or even a gentle push.
Tamest dwarf I ever had seemed to bully his cagemates - but never any blood. Blood is the key; it should NOT occur.

Usually dwarf hamsters (especially from the same litter), play a lot and sometimes squeak. I think that they are fine, but if you ever see some scratch marks/blood/scabs, separate them immediatly!
