Ok just bought brand new dwarf hamster. Have to admit I am not hamster savy, owned a ton of animals but never a hamster. I know there is dried corn kernals in the food mix the store sold me but is it safe to give him raw corn on the cob to chew on?

Read old threads on this forum to learn more about hamsters, and there are many online hamster care sites to inform you.

Nothing wrong with corn on the cob - a little. Corn is starchy and can make the dwarf (or us) fat as the starches get quickly converted into sugars which will be used for energy - or stored as fat. Some only in moderation, for all of us! Same deal as potatoes and bread.
