My little hamster is really bloated. I don't know why. I haven't given him any new type of food or anything. Does anyone have any ideas of what could have caused it?

Could he have eaten something that blocked up his digestion? Are you sure it's a male, not a pregnant female? I recommend taking him to a vet since it is really hard for us to diagnose what exactly is the problem. Best wishes towards a full recovery!

How old is he and when did you get him? If you got him recently, he could be a pregnant she! If you are sure it is a male you ahould take him to the vet. (like Kim said)

As yodelinghamster and kimsgerbils said, it could definatly be a pregnant female. A picture would help too. Also, what type of hamster is he/she?

Is there any plastic things in his cage that he could have chewed up and accidently swallowed part of? That would block his digestive track and make him bloat. How is he today?

Thank you all for responding. I got him last christmas and I am pretty sure he is a he and hasn't been around any other male hamsters since my other on passed away in June. I actually realized that we had been giving him a new type of treat. I have since stopped giving him that and I hope it helps. Oh and thank you for all your best wishes.
