I just had to take my one dog for emergency surgery. In the end it cost me about $650.00. I took a flyer I found at the vets about pet insurance but I am just wondering if it really works. I have three dogs, and we live on a week to week budget so when these emergencies pop up it hits us hard..... Any advice?

when my parents bought our first dog when i was 8, he came with a year of pet insurance. the insurance refunded 80% of the cost of vet bills,which included shots. i'm thinking about getting my westie insured.
