Hey, I rescue small critters and I'm in Alaska (Palmer)... They wouldn't survive up here, especially since it's frosting at night.

Hamsters should NEVER be let loose in the wild! They are tame creatures. They could maybe adapt to living in the woods, BUT THEY WOULD NOT LIVE LONG ENOUGH TO ADAPT. THey would be eaten or die (from weather, starvation, dehydration, etc.) long before they would adapt to living outside.

Instead of letting your hammie go, please give it to Kim or Leah. (Whoever's closer I guess, they are both awesome with little animals, so I wouldn't be like give it to this one and not that one.)

I agree they are not like cats lol they cant be left out, i leave my Hammies outside but only with a small pet pen and me looking at them!
