Well I have a Paint horse/pony. He's a real cutie and isn't the brightest bulb in the bunch. He's not very alert. You can walk up to him making all kinds of noise and he doesn't usually notice you until you are right by him. Sometimes even then he doesn't notice you.lol

Hope to hear from you soon!

Hey, he's 13. And he definatly doesn't sleep when you are taking him up. He doesn't like to work no matter what. But sometimes after you tack him up or just ride him bareback, he can be full of it. You can start galloping him and without warning he will suddenly stop or start bucking. Funny little thing?huh

I was close with a wonderful pony named Snowball. she was a shetland/welsh type A mix. sadly she was euthanized due to laminitis, but she was quite the pony. she was lovable and cute, as well as mischievious and crazy. i miss her

I heard that ponies live longer than horses, and donkeys outlive both is it true? how long do ponies live in general?
Well at our barn, we have a pony, he's soooo adorable, a real cutie!! He looks like a mini-horse, kinda reminded me of those barbie horses of little unicorn, he doesent have that pony look, like big tummy, he's just looks like a pony-sized horse. But anyways he is the oldest pony or horse there, he's 28 years old, and he's in great shape, no sway back, or slowing down, he looks very healthy, the only way u can tell he is aged is that he has grey around his muzzle and he gets cranky sometimes on cold morning.. but he's definitely my favorite!!:D

i have a pony, he's absolutely wonderful and i love him! hehe.

he's a paintXthoroughbred 14.2 hand gelding named Blackhawk (thinking of a new name) and he's tobanio piebald (white with black).

he's a nice pony, but definintly has pony spirit in him. he'll

1) go around the ring at a nice pace, w/t/c and then all of a sudden he'll run for the gate and run right into it. he's stupid like that. but oh well.

2) he'll go around at a nice canter, through a course of about 2'6 jumps, and he'll be perfectly hunter-pony ish and all of a sudden, wham, he goes crazy - bucking, rearing and galloping. but i haven't fallen off yet!

Sounds like you two need to work on communication.
