This is my cute hammie Skittles. I took these photos when I had him out to play and I gave him a milk bone dog treat. It was so funny watching him try to figure out how to hide it.

Look at his coat, he has really long hair on the sides, but on top his hair is shorter. Why is that?

Awww very cute, that hair might be like that because his parents must have been a long hair and a short hair thats what i think. Kirby is lil but you can tell she will have hair like that :)

It kind of looks like that, because his whole face and head has short hair and it goes all the way down his back.
One other thing that I noticed with Skittles ever since I've had him, Skittles is very shaky. Whenever I hold him, even when he is inside his cage, I can feel him shake. He has done this ever since I have had him. At first I though Skittles was shaking because he was scared. Its been several months and he still does this. Does anyone know why he is doing this?

I dont know but if he is ok and happy it must not be something to worry about :)

He seems otherwise fine. He eats, sleep and drinks all normaly. I gave him more tissue & aspen bedding to use in his nest so he would be warm enough. I think it has more to do with a nerve thing. Maybe I'll try a few other hamster sites and see what I can learn from them. Otherwise I'm going to call the Brown Co. Vet. I gotta know.

He is a normal long haired hamster. That is just how they come sometimes. The hair on his back is shorter, but still fluffy and wavey it looks like.

Longhaired hamsters do not have long fur on their face and the fur on the back is shorter but shouldbe wavey. Skittles is just a normal longhaired.
Some hamsters are just naturaly timid and will shake even though they are happy.

Thought I would put a few of my lot on here.

This is my young female colony of Campbells. They are two different litters with different Mums but same Dad. At least three of these are staying with me, the lilac fawn (under wheel), the beige (next to sticks) and one of the chocolates (next to left hand of tube). The rest are up for rehoming - please note I do keep ALL hamsters that I do not rehome.

You need to set up an account on photobucket.com (http://www.photobucket.com ) or another photo site like that. I use photobucket it very easy to use. Once you have your account, you upload your photos on that site and create a photo album. When you want to post photos on here you need:
1 - Go to your photobucket site and copy the Url address underneath the photo.
2 - Then come back to petshub and above the text box there is a yellow icon on top,(to insert Image) press that icon.
3 - A box comes up asking for the Url address. Paste the Url address into that space.
4 - Then click "OK". It will show up in the text box like this.

It will have on the beginning & end. That is what will make your photo show up in the text. When you hit submit, just the photo will be seen and not the text. If you don't have the around the URL address the photo will not show up, only the text.
I hope that I explained it OK.

I also had two dwarf hammies that died a few months ago. They were rescued at around 6 months old. Unfortunately they were never really tame and always tried to bite, but they were sweet anyway.
