Hello everyone,
I've got a Sapphire(Agouti) around 1.5 years old, male.
Recently he got into a fight with my Dwarf, and developed a scar(around 3 wks ago) around the underside of the body. Subsequently there was pus and he really smelled. However, since last wk the pus has disappeared.

But for the past wk, his underside of the body (above the male scent gland) and the area surrounding it has been really wet, and he isn't able to clean and dry it.
However, he's able to clean and dry the rest of his body.

In addition, he's lost alot of weight, almost down to his bones. He's still eating though, but only a portion of the food that he's fed.

Can anybody provide advice on how to treat him, including helping him to gain weight or regain his appetite?

Thanks.

He seriously needs a vet. Infections rarely spontaneously improve and his may have formed a fissure, or channel, from the original wound to a new area.

Making an animal suffer for three weeks with an infection is really cruel. Infections/abscesses are painful.

^ yeah. wow 3 weeks! I think a vet can give you something for it, it may be too late but I'm not sure. A simalar thing happened to one of my dwarves. Please help him, take him to a vet, it sounds pretty bad.
