One of my female baby dwarves, Marshmallow, has started to do something strange every time I give her food. Every time I do so, she stores it, transports it into her wheel, and proceeds to run in the wheel. I admit it was cute the first few times, but I have to constantly give her and her mom, Potato Chiplette (who she shares the cage with), more food. It also makes the wheel dirty and makes a lot of noise. Anyone have any idea why she does this? I suspect that she likes the sound, but I am wondering if anyone has had the same experience.

Hudson used to do that... I still miss him so much! :crybucket .... Oh I remember what I was going to say! If the wheel is near to the ground, then she may be making a nest in it and then deciding to run on the wheel. If not it is just a cute little quirk. She may stop as she get older, good luck though! She sounds cute! could you post pics maybe?

Oh sorry for the double post, but I think it may just be a dwarf thing! None of my other hams have done it.

These are some pics from when the babies were a bit younger. They look the same now but just got a bit bigger.

Marshmallow is the white baby with the grayish ears (as in a toasted marshmallow). The other white baby is Coconut and the gray baby is simply named Gray Baby.
