Ok I have a pit that is reaching the... lets see he was born June 30th so he is about 14 weeks old. :D

Altho we havent had him but 3 weeks or so, the guy we bought him from (friend of ours, trustworthy) said he has had his first set of shots.
So he needs his second set. No problem. :)

I called the vet, they said $80 for three shots.
So I called a friend of mine, he works for Mans Best Friend (dog training place) and gets a discount on shots. YAY! :D Only $12!!

Sooo he brought me the three shots that Buster needs, however I have two questions about these shots before giving them.
(I have giving animals/cats shots in the past)

1.) Do dogs get thier shots in the hine leg or the nap of the neck?

2.) His Distemper/Parvo shot is together and comes with a steril mix. Do I put the steril into the Distemper/Parvo bottle, shake it up and then put it into the needle?

Thanks for reading, and thanks for the help :)

It depends on the actual vaccination, some have to be intramuscular, some subcutaneously, some can be given either way. If you have the names handy it may help us figure it out.

This may be helpful. They sell vaccinations you can do yourself and have instructions as well as which way to give the vaccines they sell.

I have these 3 and a sterile.
Parvo and Distemper (mixed together)
Coronavirus
and Bordetella

But when I called the vet and asked her what ones he needs to get, she didnt mention Bordetella.
So I have plans to give him the Distemper/Parvo and the Coron.

You will not want to give him the shots all in the same place, so administer them in different spots, making sure you note which one went where.

Um, not to be rude, but if you don't even know where to give the dog it's shots, maybe it's worth the extra money to let the vet do it?

Do you have a vet lined up for him should he have an accident or get sick? A lot of hospitals will not see you in an emergency unless you are a client of theirs.

Thanks for the conserne and replys.
Its not that I didnt know where to give the shots, shots can go in a few places. I just was unsure what place is best for puppies. But I contacted the vet and she let me know the info I needed.

Yes he has a vet incase he gets sick or if he has to see her unexpectedly.

But Buster now has his shots and acts as tho it never happened heh.

Thanks again for the replys
