I have a wolf/husky mix female dog. She'll be 3 Nov 1st. This morning when i came downstair's to open the window and pet all of them Ninja (Pure German shepard) and Majestic (wolf mix) were on the box, i turned my back for a couple of second's and all of a sudden Majestic fell off the box, and started freaking out, she was laying on her side, her mouth was open, eye's fully dialated and was sloppering.
I was at the point freaking out, so my b/f went outside and had to calm her down (don't know what he did, since i was crying and he was telling me to go back in the house, because i was scaring her) So when i did go back outside, she was acting like she didn't know me, plus it looked as if she bit her tongue, because there was blood on it. I called my mom, and it said it seem's like maybe she had a seizer, so i gave her some milk. She's still acting a little werid, but right at the moment she's sleeping. She's never had any sezier's before, the only thing wrong with her is that she has low thyroid's, which i have to give her thyroid medication every day 2 time's a day. I can't take her to the vet, because my b/f had to go see his Son, whose in the airforce, unwhich he took the car. So i don't know what to do. I'm freaking out here. B/f is saying that's she's gonna be ok, he said he doesn't know if maybe she had something in her mouth(because she had her mouth wide open when i saw her) Or if maybe ninja on accident pushed her off the box, and she hit her head. I felt for lump's and don't see any. So just wondering if anyone know's anything about this. Plus she does have all her shot's, i just recently got them, i'd say about 2-3 months ago. Any response's would be great. Sorry it's so long too...

Call the vet and talk to them. Perhaps they could help setup a ride or give you some advice while you wait until you can get there.

You want to go see a vet asap. You don't know when the next one will be or how long it will last. Seizure's can be fatal. You don't know how long they will last. And if they last a certain amount of time, the body temperature gets up too high and brain damage occurs. This can put the animal into a coma and they don't always wake up from this. You need to find out what caused the seizure, so that the problem won't happen again. If she starts to seize again, make sure there isn't anything around that she can hurt herself on. Do not try to comfort her while she seizes, you could get hurt too. But definitely don't brush this off, try to get to a vet.

good luck. I know it's scary to see someone you love seize. keep us updated!

Just to give everyone an update. Majestic is now back to her normal self (thank god) But i do intend on taking her to the vet Monday. B/f is saying she'll be fine, but i'd feel alot better knowing if she's going to be or not. So i'll def. be taking her. I will keep everyone updated tho. And thank you very much for the response's.

seizures are not normal under any circumstance. you are doing the right thing by ignoring your boyfriend in this case. a full neurological exam and blood profile will need to be done to help determine what may have been the cause. is there a possibility the dog has gotten into something without your knowledge. seizure like activity is sometimes significant of toxicities.

Well she had another seizer this morning at 6:30am, plus peeded herself, which she hasn't done since she's been having these seizers. :( It's now 8pm, and she hasn't had one since, but she's not acting like her usual self. She's sleeping alot more, plus not eating that much. :crybucket So i'm taking her to the vet, as soon as i get up in the morning, which knowing me will be around 7am, since i've slept for a whole 3 hour's last night, keeping an eye on her. But thank you for the response's, and as soon as i get back from the vet tomorrow i will tell you the updates. :eek2:

when an animal seizes (and people for that matter) they lose control of their body. Often they'll urinate of defecate. They cannot control it. I'm sorry it happened again.

Please post when you find out what is wrong.

Well i took her to the vet today, and they said that dog's just sometime's have seizers. But they put her on Phenobarbital, and took blood from her. So i'll know tomorrow if she's prone to have them or if it's just a one time thing. She hasn't had a seizer tho since sunday morning at 6:30am which is good. But just wanted to tell everyone, she seem's like she's doing a little better, not quite back to her normal self, but is getting there. Thank's for all the response's, and when i get the result's tomorrow i'll tell you all.

Well i just called the vet, and got her blood work back. They said that her blood work came back fine, everything is ok. :) So i'm guessing she's not prone to have them. But i still have to keep an eye on her, for atleast 2 week's, till the medication kick's in. It's a huge sigh of relief knowing that she's gonna be ok. She's still not normal yet, and seem's to follow me everywhere. (Which i don't mind, remind's me of when she was a puppy, she was up my butt all the time) Lol. But like my b/f said it's gonna take a little while for her to hopefully get back to normal. Just hopefully she does go back. Thank you for all your response's. You guy's really help me out, when i'm having a crisis, it's good to know that ppl love their animal's as much as i do. But i will post from time to time to tell you all how she's doing!
