hi, I've got two winter whites and one of them keeps piling bedding on top of the food dish.. do you guys know if this is normal or what?

I think it is.. What he does is take the bedding on top of the food right?? If so thats totaly normal all my Hammies do that!

oh yeah it is very normal! They think the are hiding the food from anyone else!

yup my hamster does it too! So do my gerbils!! I always thought they did it cuz they figured having bedding on top of it would keep it fresh lol. Maybe i just thought they were smarter then what they really are i dunno lol. But yeah its totally normal!!

Hey, my hamsters do not hide their food. Is that.. abnormal?? Haha.

lol, tha for replies guys.. but after reading this i think yodelinghamster is right.. because i watched them (two winter whites that are brothers) for a while and tony is the one who covers it with bedding so that peter wont be able to find it. b/c well peter is a fat ass lol :) THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE!
