Sorry to disturb again..
I brought my Roborovskii to the vet's, and he prescribed some vitamins and antibiotics for him. However, we are having a hard time feeding him the medicine, and have no choice but to force it down his throat. But even so, he just refuses to open his mouth.
Also, he has to have his meal before taking the medicine, but he doesn't want to eat.
What should I do? He's already looking traumatized and all..

If you scruff him, he'll open up his mouth and you can put the meds in. It doesn't hurt him, even though it may look like it does. With the meal before, I"m assuming it doesn't have to be a meal. See if he'll eat something that he likes. Like maybe a carrot, or something that he likes. He just needs something in his little belly.
Good luck and I hope he feels better!

Or maybe you could put it in his food then he may eat it

Try giving him dry rice crispy cereal or strawberry yogart. Both my mice & hamster love it.

If I was you I'd place the medicine in his water dish or bottle, I've always given my hammies vitamins and medicine using that procedure, mine never like to open their mouths as well but by doing this they take it without knowning it. Yogurt might be a good idea, i have never given my hamsters anything like that and I don't intend to, fruits and veggies are good enough and yogurt might cause diahhrea.

If you use a syringe or eye dropper put it in sideways to avoid the front teeth. Try not to get it in too deep or squirt too forcefully lest some get in his lungs.
It can be done.

Yes, mix the medicine in with cottage cheese, or yogurt or something that has a lot of smell (He won't smell the medicine on it, only the food!). Good Luck! :)

Okay, I will try that later.
I like the people around here, they are all so helpful. Thanks a lot. =)
