I cannot believe how irrisponsible people can be. I walked out of a petshop in tears yesterday because of the way people treat the animals. I saw 5 dogs that looked very sick in cages about as big as 2 feet by 2 1/2 feet. There were "labradoodles" "on sale" for $1,490. There was a Cock-a-poo ACA registered for "only" $699! I cannot believe that people go for this crap. I then went over to the rabbit pen. There were 8 bunnies in seperate cages. The cages were actually one big cage that was divided. Each cage probably had 5 square feet. There was 3 rabbits in one cage and 5 in the other. The only reason they were seperated was because the five was a mother and her babies. There was a sweet holland lop who was very sick and had a huge scab on its back. It also had holes in its ears. The other rabbits were grooming it and I am pretty sure that all of them had mites/lice. I said to a woman who worked there, "This rabbit is very sick. It has a huge scab on its back and it has ear mites." She walked over and said: "Oh we get that all the time from them biting each other. Damn rabbits. I have one in the back right now that is dying from a bite." AND SHE WAS OK WITH THIS! Neither cages had any food although there was water. They had all of the other animals in aquariums and they too had little food. I just cannot stand petshops. I want to report them, but am not sure how.
