Hello! I need some great information... my female sugar glider is pregnant!! (with twins!) I need all the information I can get about what to do for her (and the babies), she has had a baby successfully before (w/ her previous owner), but I have never done this before! She is pregnant by the previous owner's male, but is currently with my male. She was extremely stressed at her other owners house and they don't know why, but since I got her and put her with my male she is 200 times better. I'd hate to seperate them because they are both so comfortable, they both get very aious when seperated. They do everything together, sleep in the same pouch, eat out of the same dish, even though they have their own they eat together one dish and then move to the next. I do not want to stress her out, because she is so easily stressed and seperate them, he is not agressive towards her at all. SUGESTIONS??????

I just received my two joeys about a month ago, an unrelated pair, male and female.

I did months worth of research as well as meeting and greeting (and even hosting a get together) with glider owners prior to my ownership.

I highly suggest you check out a few websites that I found wonderfully helpful.

www.glidercentral.net
www.glidersanonymous.net

They will help you out immensely.

Yes Glidercentral.net all the way GreatGreat people and info.
How long have they been together, is your male neutered? HMMM I know that when a female gets preggo, you need to up her protien, you can give her boiled (NOT seasoned) chicken, boiled scrambled plain eggs, and yogurt (low fat, not fat free). And the male, it is usually a must, that he stay with the female, the fathers play a very large role in caring for the babies, they babysit, keep them warm, ride them around on their backs, but im not sure in this case since he is not the father. I am almost 100% sure that he will be perfectly fine and take over the father role like any other, but your best bet is to go to glidercentral.net and ask in the breeding and babies section. Good Luck and congrats on your new babies.

ive taken care of joeys just oop b4 and heres wat i no
1.like scooter said they need protein
2.dont try to handle the joey until a few weeks later.(i think it was 2 weeks)
3.the mom and dad will ocaisionly leave the joeys. Dont worry. the joey will be fine and the parents will be bak and caring for it within the hour.
4. Give the female glider her space. It will stress her out if u hold her, but as far as i can tell u can put her in a travel pouch and she'll be fine.
5.dont handle the joeys for long wen they are ready, only about 5 min. a day.
hope this helps!

Some fantastic information on breeding can be found here... http://www.petsugargliders.com/sugarglidersconsidering.html Be sure to click on the other pages for joey rejection and developement. Pray for the best, but be prepared for the worse.

Good luck!
