I have had a sugar glider for around three years, I have never been too close to her, and I would really like to be, and have always strived to be. I would like some tips on how to get closer to my sugar glider. Do you have any?

You need to bond with her, it takes a lot of patience time and trust on both of your parts. I have a new suggie and I know this can be difficult. What I would recommend you do is try to bond slowly, offer some licky treats on your finger during the day and night and carry her in a bonding pouch during the day so she gets use to your scent, this takes time. Go to glidercentral.net it is awesome.

A bonding pouch is really your best bet. Carry her in a pouch as often as you can. Also offering a number of goodies to her like meal worms, grapes, baby foods, yogie treats, etc will help her to see your not a meanie, & that you offer fun trips out of the cage & good food! =]

WWW.Midwest-Exotics.com is my site & i have a few tips also on there. I also agree to the glidercentral.net site.. GREAT info!

Dont expect to be her best friend tomorrow, it can take a LONG time to become fully bonded to a glider, especially an older one!

Just thought of another good way to interact with her.

Get a little tent only used for her. Hang a ton of pouches, rope, etc, etc, etc that she would like to play with.

Sit in there with her at night while she plays. My gliders LOVE this time of the evening & i think they REALLY love having me in there with them.

Just watch your face!!!!!lol They tend to think its a landing area! hehe
