My 7 month old, male Pb pig has not been able to stand up for about 6 weeks now.
My vet has done blood work on him, and they all came back negative.
He's been on several antibiotics as well.
He gave him shots of Prednisone.
My vet has washed his hands of the situation, telling me I need to take him to a vet school 6 hours round trip- and I cannot afford to spend a crazy amount (2 thousand approx.) for an MRI, and Spinal Tap plus other blood tests. If I had the money- I would have been there the first day I found him lying down.
My pig eats fine, and deficates and urinates fine- BUT he will not stand up.
I have to keep moving him from one side to the other.
A 'pig person' I have been lucky to find suggested an injury. I have gently done the pin test down his back and on all 4 legs, he is responsive to all stimuli.
He was with NO motion in legs or tail- now he has gained all motion back, but will not stand up.
Anyone have any clue?
