I do believe some people have gone over this with you, But I'll repeat what I recall reading.
NO GLASS. WOOD IS GROSS IN SUGGIE CAGES BECAUSE THEY PEE ON IT.
Rust probably isn't good, either. Buy it a nice cage.

No, your cage is rusting because it is made of galvinized wire, which is a huge no no! Also, the wire mesh you talk about should be PVC coated. PLEASE but a nice cage, or put the time into building one right. Your glider's health depends on it!

Well said!!!!!
No glass unless you want a broken neck!!!! Of course rust is bad, I wouldnt go with mesh as they can get their nails caught in it, & wood, as stated, no, it will get smelly & hold in bacteria!!!!!!!
I would for sure go with a good cage for my gliders. Why cant you just buy one? Make life easy on yourself. =] You can find nice cages for reasonable prices. (new & used) *hey, you dont have to do anything but put it together, & in some cases you dont even have to do that.* =]
I suggest nice sized bird cages. Try ebay!
Good luck!

Yes but I am 13 and my 2 sugar gliders are having another baby and the cage is only big enough for 2.I dont want to over crowd them.Last time they had a sg I give it to my brother(has 2 sugars& a big cage)Want about if I buy wire like the one on the cages and put at the top and put the glasses together.I got all the rust off.I have been looking on ebay for one on ebay for 50-75 but finding one big enough plus shipping is around 125.Can you give me any ideas on building a cage for 50-75 dollars.
Thank you

I HIGHLY suggest trashing the one you have! Even if you got the rust off, it will come back because of what it is, galvinized wire. Here's a site that sells suitable cages for $75 and it includes shipping. They are 36x30x20 and plenty big enough for a pair and joey. Glass is a no no because they dont know its there, and most importatly, it does not provide adiquite air flow and ventaltion.
