I got a bunch of five dwarf babies, and mom and aunt, a few weeks ago as such groups are the most tame and social. I hope for two groups of four females and three guys.
Cutest was when two of them, barely furred out, had a fight. Here are two photos:

The best thing about getting them so young is they will make friendly groups, and be very tame.

They kind of look like gerbils! Lolz!
The fight one is so cute ... dwarves are so funny!
I'm contemplating getting another ... though it won't be for a little while since I'm still caring for Combat.
What angels! :D

Don't anyone try introductions between dwarfs! It is very hard if not impossible, and dangerous. When I want groups I start with a litter, as I did here.

This was probably directed at me and that's my fault for being vague.
I would never put another dwarf in with the one I have. First off, she is much too vicious. Second off, I have dealt with dwarves for quite a long time and do know that if you buy it alone, you keep it alone.

I introduce my dwarves all the time... granted I do have a few that only like their cage mate and no one else so they stay with that cage mate in a seperate cage from the rest. I will give you an example, resently (4 days ago) I bought two large clear storage bins and decided to seperate males and females and I just did that and there was a little "arguing" going on between 2 of the females but no blood or fear pooping and now they are fine without a problem. I introduced 9 females to each other in one cage and 7 males together in another and all has went just fine. There are still a few that I cant put in the new cages because they are just two vicious towards other hammies so they stay alone or with their cage mate. But its not entirely impossible to introduce hammies together, if you have a calm relaxed hammie then they may get along with another... I find that my females get along much better with other females then my males do with other males. I wouldnt introduce an agressive hammie to anyone else but a calm, submissive hammie would probably be alright... its up to you though. I perfer having my dwarves in a colony or in pairs... NEVER alone.

My dwarf stays alone because she's aggressive and she came to me alone.
She's blind and deaf, so I fear she would get scared of a new hammy and attack it or something. She bites me all the time. Sometimes they're just nips to see if I'm food, nothing serious. Other times she gets blood from me.
I might get a CritterTrail Two and get 2 dwarves for it.

I always wondered how dwarfs can climb straight up that big vertical tube in a CT2. Sure they can??
My dwarf groups always come as litters; intros are very hard.

HandcuffedAngel, I wouldn't get a CT2 for dwarves; my friend's dwarves had immense difficulty navigating the tubes. It was hard for them to reach the water bottle, or get to the nest box. Tanks are better. (And cheaper!)

I have plenty of tanks but really like CritterTrails because they are so much easier to clean.
My dwarf I have now is in a CritterTrail X and seems to do just fine.
I suppose the vertical tubes could be kind of complicated. Hm ... I never really thought of that.
Lucky me, I have a big mouth. I have tons of tanks here including a 40 gallon long and 2 30 gallon tanks.
Hum ... hum dee dum. Well ... maybe not, then! Lolz!

I have a crittertrail 2 and even my dwarf hammie carries her 5 babies up and down it all the time with ease. All 28 of my dwarves have at one point been in the crittertrail 2 and have had no diffuculties what so ever, they climb the long tube ease and I constantly find them laying up there, my female with her litter love that top area. I also have two Xtreme crittertails and my hammies love those as well.

So, I don't know what to think about CT2's for dwarfs. I guess they can work. I'd worry about the babies falling through to the bottom, though.
