I have a male syrian, about six months old, maybe five, and today, in just a matter of a couple hours, the back of his neck got all spiky wet haired and yucky looking and is very sparse. Other than that he is fine, running in his wheel and eating and everything. except he runs in his wheel for a bit, and then he'll lay down next to it between it and the side of the cage on his tummy and it looks like he's breathing hard, Ican't tell or hear though... Its too late tonight to get ahold of anyone but first thing tomorrow I'm calling a vet... I hope he'll be alright... :(

We had a hamster that had bald sections. A vet said to give him vitamin drops. It worked & his fur grew back. -propeller

If you are sure he is breathing hard and getting bald patches then you must take him to a vet. If he is just loseing hair then vitimin drops are a good solution. Just make sure he doesn't have mites or something like that.
