I vacuum with a cordless vacuum daily then use the swiffer wetjet. That was my worried Swiffer post earlier.
Mess prevention is a dog-door into a 30sq' enclosed and locked dog yard, daily brushing their coats and wiping off their paws after we go for our walks.
Worry about road salt (that can't be good for dogs), dog snot on the windows and hair still everywhere.
What do y'all do to keep the mess to a tolerable level, my inlaws are coming?

to prevent the hair before your in-laws come, you could always have them groomed and ask to have the undercoat blown out with a high-power dryer. seeing as how i'm a little late with that advice, being christmas eve and all, maybe trying bathing and using a regular hairdryer with a metal comb to get as much extra hair out as possible.
dog snot on the windows...i'm sure you're used to living with this and it doesn't disgust you nearly as much as it would your inlaws. so maybe run to the store and pick up something for boundary control just to keep the dogs from the window while they're there? honestly, i hope they wouldn't judge you TOO much based on that, jeez.
but good luck on holidays with the inlaws.

Only the catahoula enjoys a bath so the barrier it will have to be. We took the basement door out when we remodeled but the hinges are still there so back it goes. No dogs and cat watching the turkey and doing their "they're starving me, I'm so abused" impressions this Christmas.
