hi, my cat throws up about once every week and i really don't know what the problem is. We feed her both dry and canned food. Sometimes it is hairballs, but usually it is just food or liquid. Is it normal or should I take her to the vet?

also, she does some sort of coughing once in a while, like she has hair in her throat, but she doesn't throw up. My other cat doesn't throw up or cough like this.

Could be trying to get a hairball up or just a case of eating too fast.

If she's routinely throwing up about once a week, I would probably take her to the vet. We first noticed that Loki had chronic renal failure when he started to be nauseous and sick fairly regularly.

take your cat to a veterinarian please. if this is an ongoing thing then it should be discussed with your veterinarian so that they can find the cause of it. if your cat were just vomiting up hairballs i would just suggest a laxative however your cat is throwing up bile/liquid and food which indicates a medical cause (or at the very least a food intolerance)

I agree. You need to get her to a vet.

My cat has astma and coughs and weezs a lot, i dont think this is what your cat has tho.
My cat throws up a lot too, so do my friends cats. I think sometimes cats eat too fast, try to not give him to much food at a time.

Yeah my cats throw up too (but they are old and are having a hard time digesting)

I would get the opinion of a vet and maybe switch her to a better cat food.

My cats have been doing way better with a better cat food brand for old and prone to hairball and obesity cats (I know it's that bad)
