Most of us are on Holiday and I did want to give every one something to think about. However is speaking of time travel , alternate realities and worm holes bother you then this might be a good time to hit the back key. Its near the top and too the left.. unless of course some of you are from time line delta 12 and it will then be on the lower right part of your screen. For the rest... well it might be a good time to close hydro-net explorer.
Still here?
Great then lets get going with the main topic.
It has been postulated that when you come to a crux event in your life that you are creating 2 or more reality streams. Whether its because you decided to marry the person with all the money or the one with the funny hair and flashing eye's.... you are already a traveler on the multiverse.
Consider for a moment the fella who just walked in a moving bus... what happened to him... well forget that for a moment. He did in his unfortunate error in judgement create a time-line in which he has quite neatly taken himself out and affected countless others. Not the least being that the bus driver has been fired and he now cant afford to pay his rent and him and his family are on the street.
Now consider again that last fateful moment when the same person thinks better of it and doesn't walk in front of the bus.... The alternate time line created or not... may be running as an echo of the real one or slowly fade.
This is of course an abstract theory that is nothing else gives somethat that might be someting interesting to consider for a moment.
Comments?

Hmm, very interesting. The person mentioned may not be directly affected by his decision not to walk infront of the bus, but it may, infact, affect a bystander. Which would open, as you called it, "an alternate time line" for that individual. They may have observed the situation and now ponder in a deeper fashion upon life itself. And change their personal outlook on life. It seems that the time line would only come about if the situation affected the thought of one or more persons. Otherwise life would go on as before.
Just my 2 1/2 cents :D.

Its all a thought exersize.... the only way anyone could have gone to the time travelers convention that has for all intents and purpose already happened.. is by having your own time machine.
Incidentaly.... we are all time travelers.
Stuck in the forward direction... 60 seconds per min.
But still time travelers.

I think it makes sense.
The Road Not Taken (Robert Frost)
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth.
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same.
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
Edited to add: If you haven't read it already, I recommend Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut if you're interested in this kind of stuff!

I trimmed this a bit.... but I love the poem. I have enjoyed several of Vonneguts works.... or perhaps they have enjoyed me.
Try TimeQuake also by Vonnegut. This is NOT Easy reading.

Dont die :)
I like to think I'm a thinker.... perhaps more then some.
I do find it interesting how many people get to a cusp point where the choices they make can affect others and even spawn alternate time lines.... and never even realize that the choice they make.. can be so important.
I have recently had a chance to effect a small change or maybe a null change... which may have resulting in what I hope is intended to be the proper time line.
I was driving on one of our highways in New Jersey and as you may know there are these dividers that are intended to cut down head on collisions... They also cut down what you can see and react to.
As I was approaching the light it turned yellow... by itself not an earthshaking event.... thousands of people maybe every sec see a yellow light an just speed up and go through it.
Call it some kind of warning or instinct... but I had the feeling that I could not... should not go through that light... And I managed to stop just in time... just as I saw the bobbing head of a young child pass in front of my headlights... He seemed to have seen the light turning yellow and decided not to wait. And in fact he didnt even seem to notice me or just how close he had come to not being....
Consider what might have happened if I had gone through the yellow light like most people.
If you can fell the cusp event coming... you might have a second or two to decide whether your actions have consequence's you didn't foresee.
