just curious, but didn't you already just get a syrian and say you were on limited funds?

I do hope you know that they are alot different then syrian hamsters, they are very territorial and do bite unlike most syrian hamsters.

>> good so carefresh or aspen there is a big petworld buy me ill go look tommoz now is there defo NOTHING LIVE ANIMAL i can put in with the syrian hamster that it wont eat <<

You posted that, which is almost incoherent, although I think it says you wanted to put another animal in with a Syrian, which is ridiculous.

You also said you only had little money.

>> now thinking of getting 2 adorable dwarf hamsters <<

Stop thinking about it and focus your care and limited funds on your solitary Syrian.

i can't help it and i usually hate to judge people, but this really feels to me to be a case of someone wanting animals because they're cute and cuddly and really not having the prior knowledge it requires to provide the quality of care the animal needs. phillip, you claim to be 32 years old which should suggest you know better than to jump into situations you are ill-prepared for. you seem to have proven you have not done adequate research before bringing the animal into your home. i seriously hope this does not turn into one of those situations where your own lack of research and preparation winds up costing the animal quality of life and possibly the life itself.

Phillip ... do you mind telling me how old you are and how much money you have?

You should have money stored away for emergencies such as vet bills, etc. Hamsters need decent-sized cages, aspen bedding, a wheel for the cage and a run-about wheel, food, toys, something to chew to keep their teeth from getting overgrown, a waterbottle, and treats.

Some money doesn't count, sweetie. I'm not trying to sound like a bully or anything, but I am curious as to what you find suitable for 2 dwarf hamsters.

And I am also curious if you are having trouble affording the syrian you already have. Why don't you focus your love on him/her?

Well, maybe do some research on dwarves before getting them. And when I say research, don't ask questions on here, instead, go onto different websites and get all the information you can get. When you are finished, show off what you know from your research on here, and then we will tell you if you sound ready to get 2 dwarves. Here is a wonderful website for learning about Campbell Dwarves (Russian dwarf hamsters).

http://russiandwarfhamsters.tripod.com

Also, I don't want you to get any ideas about trying to have a dwarf and a syrian live together or "meet" eachother because that is a recipe for CERTAIN DEATH!

no they will be in seperate cages

PetLuver21257

And listen, even on a neutral territory, the Syrian would fight with the dwarves until the dwarves are dead. Do NOT let them even meet!

Ok then that's fine!! :)

So now all you have to do is research on a certain type of dwarf, what kind are you going to get. Roborovski, Campbell (I highly reccomend them Campbell), Chinese, or Winter white?

phillip

PetLuver21257

Yes, either the winter white hamster or the Campbell dwarf. Usually it is the Campbell dwarf...

What do you mean show you a picture of the cage??

Here is a Campbell dwarf:

And here is another picture of one:

But, why don't you just type in Campbell Dwarf Hamster on google images and look there? Why do you have to ask ppl on here to do that for you?

Because this person doesn't want to do his own research. He wants everyone to tell him what to do.
So i'm telling you to NOT get any more pets.

Yea, I agree! Phillip, take care of the Syrian Hamster you already have and don't bother buying dwarves.... Don't buy anymore pets for awhile.

PetLuver, we are just curious why you recommended a Campbell when you were discussing the diff types of dwarves. We have a Campbell's and we are SO happy with our choice but we won't lie we just got him because we thought he was a cutie! Just curious what your basis for saying that was...we agree eventhough we have never had any other type...we could never imagine anything greater than our little Giz!

The guy is 13.

Phillip, I suggest looking up "care of syrian hamsters" on the Internet, and looking through some older threads here. You can rely on us for advice, but we aren't going to type up a whole care sheet on Syrian hamsters. :-)

HunnyBunnies: I reccomended Campbell dwarf because I own one myself and I am VERY happy with her!!

She is just a great little pet! Yes, Campbell's are awesome! :)

One small reason I got her was because she was WAY TOO CUTE when I saw her at the petstore... lol :)

Haha thanks PetLuver, glad to hear of another Campbell's owner out there who is as thrilled as we are...they are just so darn cute I don't know how anybody could resist them! Now I don't feel so bad about our basis for choosing our hamster :D!
